- Outcomes with prone breast irradiation have demonstrated:
- Low rates of local recurrence
- Excellent cosmetic outcomes
- No suggestion of higher rates of skin toxicity
- Lower doses to the lungs and heart
- No suggestion of higher rates of pneumonitis
