Simon’s Triangle

  • Classically, the RLN is identified intraoperatively in Simon’s triangle, which  is formed by:
    • The common carotid artery laterally
    • The esophagus medially
    • The inferior thyroid artery superiorly
  • The recurrent laryngeal nerve  crosses the triangle
